Small House (Free)
The Organic Environments Small House is our contribution to the international bale building community. It is a 1594 (953 usable) square foot one and one half storey home with a compact roof, concrete grade beam foundation, and a free standing post and beam second floor deck. It will eventually be available in several versions including an empty shell (you fill in your own interior design) and as several proposed floor plans. We also plan to offer one storey versions of this building as an empty shell and as proposed floor plans. Check back often to watch for new plans.
This design features a very open feel with a first floor that is completely open except for the bathroom and utility room on the far right corner. The great space which includes the front entry, dining room, and kitchen features ceilings ranging from 14 to 20 feet. The undefined loft space can be left open as an open 25' x 14' bedroom or closed to include a bedroom and mezzanine or two bedrooms. Visit the page for this plan for more information.
